How is spiritual life coaching with you different from individual therapy?
Both spiritual life coaching and therapy can be transformational to a person’s life journey and help someone to achieve greater alignment with their authentic self. However, unlike therapy, spiritual life coaching is short-term, meaning we will only work together for a set amount of time. Additionally, spiritual life coaching takes a goal-oriented and focused approach to resolve challenges in the here-and-now. On the other hand, therapy explores how past and current experiences impact a client’s ability to be in the world and can help someone to heal through and better manage mental health related issues, such as depression or anxiety.
Also, the meeting schedule for therapy is synchronous whereas spiritual life coaching is asynchronous. Therapy clients can often have some or all the costs of sessions covered by insurance, whereas spiritual life coaching is not covered by insurance. Additionally, as a Spiritual Life Coach, I am able to work with people from all over the world, whereas as a therapist, I am limited to working with clients who are located in states that I am licensed to practice.
Do I have to be of a particular faith or follow a specific religion to participate in spiritual life coaching with you?
No, you do not have to follow a specific faith or hold a belief in a higher power to work with me. I view spiritual life coaching as a way to help clients become better aligned with their truth and authenticity. It is NOT a way to convert someone to my ways of thinking about and engaging in spirituality. If you have faith or spiritual practices, I will honor and uplift them by incorporating them into your Individual Alignment Plan.
What qualifies you to be a Spiritual Life Coach?
In 2022, I completed my journey to become a sangoma, or a traditional healer. Sangomas are primarily found in southern Africa, and their roles are to bring healing to the communities addressing spiritual, mental, physical and emotional challenges via ritual, ancestral practices, and other healing technologies. Through my training, I am equipped to help others achieve alignment and wellness and wholeness.
Can I receive both individual therapy and spiritual life coaching from you?
At this time, you cannot receive individual therapy if you are receiving or have received spiritual life coaching services from me, nor can you begin spiritual life coaching if you are or have been a psychotherapy client of mine.
Is spiritual life coaching done virtually, in-person, or both?
Spiritual life coaching is done virtually via a safe and confidential platform.
Do you offer spiritual life coaching for couples or groups?
Yes, I do offer spiritual life coaching to couples and groups, such as for friends and family. Healing often happens within the community, as our loved ones and colleagues help us to learn how to adapt, integrate and change over time. However, when we heal and our community remains the same, it can be difficult to experience our own transformations when loved ones no longer understand us. Spiritual life coaching for couples and groups seeks to help people have richer and deeper healing experiences, where relationship to community is seen as an important part of the healing process. If this is something you want to explore, please contact me to discover the next steps.
How do I initiate the process to start spiritual life coaching with you?
Please reach out to me via my contact page to schedule a consultation call with me or ask for an application to apply to work with me.
